It all started in June 2012, in Ben Avon, PA...The idea was to:
Guys' Beer Night is open to all living around the Ben Avon area.
Absolutely everyone! It's a great opportunity to meet neighbors and socialize.
A different Ben Avon resident hosts each month. Usually, hosts volunteer well in
advance, and the calendar is full for the upcoming 4-6 months at any given time.
Of course, you must be 21 years or older if you will actually consume alcoholic beverages...and
since it's a local event and Ben Avon is a nice — but small — neighborhood, walking to and
from your neighbor's house is usually easy. Drink responsibly.
- Have a social event to meet new and existing neighbors, and have a fun
time with friends....After all, if the Ben Avon-area women already had Wine
Night, guys should also get a chance to socialize!
- Trying different kinds of beers! This is not always easy in Pennsylvania.
Who wants to buy an entire case of a kind or brand they have never tried —
and might not like? Of course, laws have changed slightly over the past
few years since the events started, but still, at Guys' Beer Night everyone
brings a six pack; this results in a wide variety of beers you can sample.
Microbrews are nice and thoroughly enjoyed, but this isn't about being a
snob; so if you like mainstream light beers, no problem! In fact, you don't
even have to drink beer...
